6:00 – 6:15: Coaches warm up their teams stretching and throwing (correctly) with a partner
6:15-6:30: Station 1
6:30-6:35: water
6:35-6:50: Station 2
6:50-7:05: Station 3
7:05-7:10: water
7:10-7:25: station 4

- Softball Golf
- 3 buckets will be out to simulate golf holes.
All the girls start on the same hole.
To begin all players stand at the marker labelled tee and take turns throwing the ball towards the hole.
If they do not put it in the hole then they continue throwing until they do.
Play continues until they all put their ball in the hole and then the rotate to the next hole.
- If you want to keep track of the winners of the hole so you can have a labelled softball golf pro then go for it.
- 3 buckets will be out to simulate golf holes.
- Agility with Fielding Fly balls
- Before starting the agility course review with the girls how to catch a fly ball.
We will use tennis balls for this.
Have the girls all line up and 1 by 1 toss a tennis ball and have them catch it.
After each girl has done that have them go through the agility course and catch a pop fly (tennis ball) correctly at the end

Fielding a fly ball Fielding sequence
Move feet and body under the ball
Hands are above the head and in front of the line of the body
Hold the glove wide open facing the ball with the fingers of the glove pointing up
The throwing hand is close to and beside the glove to secure the ball
Watch the middle of the ball into the glove
On impact close the glove and cover it with the throwing hand to secure the ball
Let hands and arms give to soften the impact as the catch is made
Bring the glove to the throwing shoulder ready to throw Ready position Body position

Catching technique
Watch the ball all the way into the glove
Catch the ball as close as possible to the throwing shoulder
Catch the ball with the fingers of the glove pointing up
On impact close the glove and cover it with the throwing hand to secure the ball
Let hands and arms give to ‘soften’ the impact as the catch is made
- Before starting the agility course review with the girls how to catch a fly ball.
- Infield positions with grounders and throwing to bases.
- Review every position with the girls.
Where to stand and what base to cover.
We want every girl to understand the positions.
- Review the sequence of fielding the ball.
Ready position – Move behind the path of the ball and set feet slightly wider than shoulder width apart
Bend the knees and lean from the waist with the weight on the inside part of the balls of the feet
Lean forward from the waist so that the glove touches the ground in front of the body. (Players should be able to see their elbows)
Hold the glove wide open facing the ball with the fingers of the glove pointing down
The throwing hand is close to and beside the glove
Watch the middle of the ball into the glove (This is where we should see the top of their heads and they alligator chomp it closed)
Close the glove and cover it with the throwing hand to secure the ball firmly
In one continuous motion grip the ball and transfer the glove and ball to the throwing shoulder ready to throw.
- Have them practice fielding ground balls and throwing to first, second and third.
- Review every position with the girls.

Have them all line up with helmet on and bat in hand.
Make sure they are far enough away from one and other so no one hits anyone.
Review the batting mechanics with them. You should be doing it as well.
Once all girls have practiced their correct swing.
Have them go to the tees and practice the swing by hitting the ball off tee.
Make adjustments as needed.
