Summer Season

AGSL enters 10U, 12U, and 14U teams into the Middle Essex Summer League run by USA Softball of Massachusetts depending on enrollment and qualified coaches. In some cases, an 18U team is also fielded.

Summer travel softball is more competitive relative to the spring season. Depending on interest, multiple teams may be formed at each age group. If AGSL decides to place teams in both A (more competitive) and B (less competitive) divisions in any age group, we will host tryouts for placement onto those teams. While every attempt will be made to roster girls onto a team, spots are not guaranteed and full refunds will be provided for any players not rostered.

Age groups are based on birth year and not grade as in the In-Town Spring season.

10U and 14U games will be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays. 12U games will be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Rainouts may be rescheduled on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.

Players receive full uniforms–including jerseys with their names on the back!

The season starts Monday, June 24 and ends Thursday, August 1. Practices are usually held in the lead-up to the season. Nights vary by coach and could include a Sunday evening.

Home games are played in Andover, and road games are played in towns in and around Essex County and also parts of Middlesex County.

Summer travel softball is more competitive relative to the spring. There are higher expectations for commitment and attendance but, vacations can be worked around if well communicated in advance to coaches. Jerseys (with names and numbers), pants, socks, and belts will be provided to each player.
